AFLAC is supplimental insurance not just disablity. If you get hurt and go to the hospital or you doctor for treatment, your major medical makes sure you doctor gets payed, but aflac pays you cash so that you can pay your house payment, rent, food, etc even though you cant work. They have several policies too…

Accident
sickness
hospital confinment
cancer
vision
dental (this one doesnt pay cash though, payment goes to you dentist. And you can go to any dentist you want.)
disablity (short term only)
long term care
life (whole and term)
specified health event (heart attack, stroke, major stuff)
ICU
maybe another, cant remember

i use to think their commercial use to talk about their disability policies, but now im leaning tward the accident.

How much is aflac insurance policy? I was thinking about signing up but I didnt see any prices listed anywhere

Do you recieve a multiple policy discount? Is it per month basis ?

AFLAC has a boatload of products, most people sign up at work. One of the best things that AFLAC has going for it is their free cafeteria plan. If your employer sponsors a plan both the employer and employee can save payroll taxes and the employee can save income taxes. You can add on your group health, life, LTD, legal aid, dental, day care, unreimbursed medical costs, etc. I thought it was only available at work but apparently they sell direct as well (here's their individual link, as well.)

I need to see a dentist, but have no insurance; what can I do?

Do actually NEED medical insurance to see a dentist? My teeth are realigning for some reason, crowding together, and I need to know why. But what can I do with no insurance? How much would it cost to just have a dentist examine my teeth and tell me whats going on?

It depends on where you live, but you can expect an exam and x-rays to run about $150, maybe more. Dental insurance doesn't really cover that much, especially if you are having orthodontic work done. Typically, insurance covers x-rays and exams once a year, two cleanings a year, 80% on things like fillings and root canals, 50% on things like crowns, bridges, and some periodontal therapy, and a flat amount–usually $1000 to $1500–on orhtodontics. You don't mention your age, health condition, or tobacco habits, but I would guess you are either looking at ortho or perio. Most offices offer credit that you can apply for to spread out your payments. You could also check into supplemental insurance, like AFLAC.

Good Luck!

328027 376293Good read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was performing some research on that. And he in fact bought me lunch as I identified it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch! 237195
