Mom-To-Be Celebrates Her Body And Yoga Practice Despite Online Backlash

For years, yoga has been a core part of Saralux “Wah” Wujina’s everyday life.

So, when this private yoga teacher, and diligent yogi herself,first learned she was pregnant, she immediately asked her doctor if she’d be safe continuing her daily practice.

She was told to lay low for the first 12 weeks, but after that was given the go-ahead to ease back into her normal routine. Grateful for the chanceto live her truth while awaiting her baby’s birth, Wujina took to documenting her amazing prenatal practice online.

While she shared every personal photo with pride, she also paired each with a strong cautionary warning that her personal routine was certainly not appropriate for most all other pregnant women.

Still, despite these warnings, others found a way to knock her down.Most of herfollowers were quick to respond with glorious praise, but some, instead, spewed heart-wrenching criticism.

Despite this negativity, this yogi kept posting, determined to spread body-positive awareness. Herdevotion to her own wellness is truly inspiring, and a beautiful celebration of all the glorious ways our bodies can exhibit strength during change.

When yogi Saralux “Wah” Wujina first learned she was with child, she immediately consulted with her doctor, asking whether or not she’d be able to continue her yoga practice while pregnant.

Her doctor recommended she refrain from practice for her pregnancy’s first12 weeks, but then gave her the OK to return back to her daily yoga regimen.

And so, Wujina embarked on her prenatal yoga journey, deciding to document her practice onsocial media for the world to witness.

At 32 weeks, she wrote of her experience on Instagramthat her pregnancy had been going surprisingly well, free of complications.

Aside from a bout of acne, which subsided by her third trimester, she attributed her positive physical and mental pregnant condition to her diligent yoga practice.

And as herpregnancy shifted some of her balance and flexibility out of whack, this attentive yogi learned to adjust her practice to better suit her changing body always paying attention to her present physicalrhythms.

While her amazing photos were certainly met with remarkable praise, they were also, at times, hit with negative backlash.

Wujina told Cosmopolitan of the detractors: “I’ve gotten some negative comments on Instagram and Facebook even from my mom.

“I can’t say what is right or wrong, but I know my body and myself. It’s my personal practice.”

Diligent yoga teacher that she is, Wujina detailed each and every picture she shared not only with a beautiful update about how she was feeling in that moment, but also with a clear disclaimer that these photos represented her practice, and her practice alone.

She in no way condoned other pregnant women, especially those who were not very active before pregnancy, to attempt any of the poses or flows she was practicing.

Despite these warnings,detractors still left plenty of comments.

However, in the face of this shame,this yogi kept posting determined to stay body-positive and stand upto judgment.
