Questions and Answers

Considering leaving Allstate Auto insurance, anyone have a suggestion?

It seems that Allstate is a bit expensive, of course I know it's based on what type of car and such. I wanted to know if anyone has better experience with perhaps State Farm, Progressive, etc…?

I liked Allstate, but switched to Progressive when I received a lower insurance premium quote. The thing I like most about these two services is that they're available whenever — you can call them in the middle of the night even. ESurance (e-surance, something like that — I used them for 6 months until they jacked my premium up) was the same way — they were available anytime, and I could pay my auto insurance online. Which, for me — that was big.

We currently have State Farm right now — the full-coverage premiums + renter's insurance is cheaper than we were paying with Progressive for the car insurance alone. However, I've never been able to pay online with State Farm, but the savings is worth it for right now.

Don't quit your policy yet, though. Shop around — you should check out an insurance broker, or an agent or website that'll check your information against a number of providers at the same time. Sites like Http://www.247autoinsurancequotes.com do this, but there are multi-agency insurance agents in bigger cities who do the same thing, albeit less quickly.

Personally, I liked Allstate and Progressive. They were always good to me, so I wouldn't drop any of them for a no-name agency.

If you can add insurance for something else — home, renters, second vehicle, etc — you may actually lower your overall insurance premium. That's why ours is cheaper with State Farm — adding renter's insurance saved us about $20 / month off the car insurance rate alone.

Good auto insurance companies?

Hey everyone! What are some good insurance companies that give pretty rates for teens (16 year olds) We have already tried Progressive, State Farm, All State, and Nationwide. So far progressive is best but I was wanting to check more. Preferably ones that stay open 24/7 that way I can call now and get quotes. Thanks so much! Anything will help.
Also the 16 year old has had an accident last November. We will be insuring a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, full coverage.
We have also tried Geico, And Triple A.

I would suggest calling a local insurance broker, they will take all your information and obtain quotes from a variety of insurance companies for you to review. I would also suggest checking consumer reports (if you have a subscription to their website). They had a good write up last year comparing insurance companies qualities. You can also check your state department of Banking and Insurance to see which providers had the least amount of complaints. It says alot about the quality of their service.

Have you heard of CountryWAY homeowner's insurance?

Looking for ratings/reviews on Countryway insurance. Our local insurance provider found us a good rate through CountryWIDE but the policy will be with CountryWAY.
I know the website for Countryway but want reviews and/or ratings or any other info. About them.

We close on the home on the 17th of this month so i need all the information I can get. Just want to make sure they are reliable.
(Live in VA if that matters)
The mortgage is not through Countrywide-just so you know.
