Transitioning from welfare to insurance Obamacare?

My husband is moving back in my 2yr old son & I have been on welfare last 2yrs. Live in PA so bc of my husband's income we'll have to put son on CHIP program for insurance. My ? Is what happens to me? I'm a stay at home mom w no income besides what my husband makes. I will lose my insurance thro welfare so will I qualify for Obamacare or have to buy my own insurance? I can't seem to find an answer anywhere…. Need to find out bc might be needing minor surgeries couple times this yr(in office procedures) obv pre existing cond. Anyone know or know where can find out?

You can find out by speaking with an agent that works with the major companies in your state.

You misunderstand "0bamacare". 0bamacare is the nickname of the law that states you must have health insurance and defines the regulations for that insurance. Nearly everyone qualifies for "0bamacare" because nearly everyone qualifies for health insurance now.

You'll get your insurance either on the marketplace "the government website" or off of the marketplace. Either way, you'll have to buy your own insurance (and either way the policy must adhere to the 0bamacare regulations), although you may qualify for a subsidy if your household income is low enough. The agent will be able to determine if you qualify for the subsidy and if you need to use the website to get your policy so you can use the subsidy. If you don't qualify for the subsidy you don't need to use the website. There is no charge using an agent.

Can I have both employer provided insurance and obamacare insurance?

The cost for 2 adults through my employer is more than obamacare. The cost for 1 adult is cheaper through my employer. I figure it would be cheaper to pay for 2 adults under obamacare, get the tax credits, and have the employer provided insurance for 1 adult with much lower copays and better coverage. So just want to be sure I can have both right, my employer provided insurance for me and obamacare for my spouse and I?
….In California
….I wont get the tax credit/financial assitance for the employer provided insurance, but I will for obamacare insurance riiiiight?

Ok. First, there is no such thing as obamacare insurance. Obamacare is a nickname for the Affordable Care Act. ALL health insurance policies, unless grandfathered, would fall under the rules of the ACA…including your coverage at work.

What you mean to ask is, "If I have insurance offered to me from work, do I or my spouse qualify for subsidies and do I have other options?"

The answer to that question is, "No, you don't qualify for subsidies, but you're welcome to shop for insurance on your own. AND, because you don't qualify for subsidies, there is NO point in going to the exchanges to shop for plans. You can do that off the exchange with less hassle."

Oh, and you don't qualify for a subsidy from the government, because your employer is providing you a subsidy (more than likely) on your group coverage.

If she went to it, then it is not Obamacare. Obamacare for adults does not start until 2014.

And there is no insurance that allows you to go to any doctor for free. If she told you that she can go to any doctor for free, then she is wrong, or she lied. With insurance, you cannot go to all doctors for free. If you can go to doctors for free, then you can only go to a few doctors for free; to go to other doctors, you have to pay something. And, that is if there are any doctors where you can go for free. With most insurance plans, you have to pay something at all doctors.
